Bye-bye Japan and 48hours at home.

My dear. Sorry for being off so long – events kind of overturned the last days. I left Japan over one week ago from Tokyo. I had a wonderful last day and night there – coming back to the hotel in Ginza where my Japan travel started. The team warmly welcomed me and gave me a whole folder of what else to do in Tokyo. I strolled around again, enjoyed the buzz of the city, had another teatime and finally I went back to the great Sushi place that I already had been. The Chef was so happy that I really came back and on that evening the manager of the restaurant was also there. So we started a conversation and they invited me for Sake – so nice! And also – and this is really rare – to join the famous Tuna auction in the early morning. Every morning the Chef is going to the market to get the fish for the day. They keep it for 36hours – so for the same day, and the lunch menu of the next day. The Tuna auction in Tokyo is a highlight. Unfortunately, I could not go because I was flying out the next morning but I needed to swear that whenever I come back to Japan I will inform them to then join this event. Without words, guys. It was such a lovely and tasteful evening again, meeting and talking to locals. On the next morning, I left Japan with a really, really heavy heart, somehow sad that this amazing trip was already over. Time flew and I swear if I am able to I will be back! This country is so incredibly beautiful – the people so overwhelming nice and friendly, and the whole Japanese culture and mixture between modernity and tradition is so different and interesting to me. The last time I have been so impressed of a country is over 25 years ago, namely when I had been in NYC for the first time in my teenager years. So Japan really, really got me! After the leaving depression, I was excited to come home to my beloved ones of course who were waiting for me at the airport in Zurich. And the best is coming now, I also stopped home for 48hours because for the next destination I was picking up my sweetheart as we are travelling together now!

PS: As soon as you have the chance you need to see the movie „Call me by your name“ – One of the best movies I have seen for years. Cried endlessly.
